Research Labs:

  1. Theoretical and Computational Group:

The prime objective of our research program is to study electronic nonadiabatic effects in a wide variety of excited state molecular processes of polyatomic molecules in gas phase, ranging from their spectroscopy, photochemistry to the dissociation dynamics with the aid of suitable ab initio quantum dynamical approaches. The task involves construction of potential energy surfaces and their coupling surfaces and development of theoretical models and algorithms to study the nuclear dynamics on the coupled electronic states. This will provide us the understanding of the nuclear dynamics in vibronically interacting states and the impact of these dynamics on photophysical and photochemical processes and such fundamental knowledge may have particular relevance to applications such as solar cells, photocatalysis and organic light emitting diodes.

  1. Electrochemistry/Photo-electrochemistry Group

Our research works are highly interdisciplinary in nature and addresses problems of environmental, and electrochemical interest, from fundamental studies of electrochemical / photoelectrochemical energy conversion, storage system, and to electrochemical sensing. We design and synthesize various metal/alloy/intermetallic/porous materials for electrochemical applications. Our main focus is to develop new materials for CO2 reduction, oxygen reduction, hydrogen, oxygen evolution amperometric sensing reactions and energy storage including supercapacitors.

Photonics Research lab:

The Photonics Research lab at KLEF Hyderabad, department of Physics deals with measurement and study of various components of light beam and its properties upon interaction with matter. The lab is equipped with all the fundamental optical components and few measurement detectors that are required to perform any measurements related to polarimetry, interferometry, nano-photonics and sophisticated weak measurements. The lab is funded by 2 SERB projects and 1 seed grant project from KLEF.
