The Department of English is a primary supportive department of the University. In order to foster English language proficiency of the students, English department offers value added courses such as Basic English, Professional Communication Skills, Corporate Communication Skills, Business English Communication, Campus to Corporate Skills, Aptitude Builder, etc. for UG and PG programmes. With appropriate syllabuses in these courses meant to scale up soft skills and hard skills of the students, the experienced and doctorate faculties bolster department with their outcome based pedagogy and paradigm. The department is front runner not only in developing minute to minute planned course handouts for well-organized teaching but also in segregating students as per their proficiency levels, paying special attention to slow learners from the beginning and by providing suitable treatment to all accordingly. With cognizance of employability skills needed in the world reputed companies, the department represents as a true vanguard making students practice sophisticated writing, critical thinking skills, creative thinking, creative writing, spoken communication and much more for their communicative competence.
Humanising technology has long been a particular strength within the department. There are some promising areas of convergence between English and Artificial Intelligence. Dedicated to the intellectual curiosity and creative thinking of students, the English Department at KLH fosters listening speaking reading, and writing skills. Our classes integrate the study of English along with science and technology. In addition to being a stand-alone major, English effectively complements many other disciplines and serves as excellent preparation for Engineers including business leaders. Our smaller class sizes allow individual attention from professors.
